The LightFab 3D printer is specially designed for the subtractive 3D printing of precision parts made of glass using the SLE process and is also used for this purpose in our contract manufacturing.

The LightFab 3D printer is suitable for prototypes and series production and is unique in its combination of a 3D micro scanner (many micro vectors are written quickly) with a precise 3-axis system (scientific version: 120 x 80 x 20 mm, manufacturing version: 200 x 200 x 150 mm).

Our many years of experience have gone into the complete system, which complies with the Machinery Directive and features vibration isolation and laser safety (in accordance with EN 60825-1:2014).

The LightFab 3D printer is used for the SLE process and also for other laser processes with a focus of <2 micrometers, e.g., particularly fine laser ablation of hard, brittle materials, writing 3D waveguides inside glass, and also additive 3D printing with 2-photon polymerization.

The flexible USP laser with adjustable pulse duration enables optimal processing of different materials.

The CAD software with our “3D printer driver” and the machine software ensure automated and fast 3D printing of complex models.

An international jury of experts also considered our LightFab 3D printer to be unique.
The jury awarded it with the 2016 Prism Award in the “industrial lasers” category at Photonics West in San Francisco.
